Welcome to May! In this issue, we'll tackle "de-fragging" your computer, and using Word Count to make your article-writing easier. Also, remember that this Sunday is Mother's Day. If you're struggling over what to buy for Mom, you can't go wrong with a mushy card and some flowers. But if you're looking for a more practical gift, how about an AMA membership - or a gift certificate for computer lessons (we can help with that)! Happy spring! Diane Henders |

| Tech Tip: Using Word Count | ||||
![]() |
If
you write articles for publication, you know that word count is the top
priority for your publisher! Let Microsoft Word® do
the work
for you, with the Word Count feature. To use it, use your mouse to select (highlight) the words you want to count. Then, in Word® 2003, click on the Tools menu, and select Word Count. In Word® 2007, it's even easier - just select the words, and look down in the bottom left corner of your document screen. You'll see "Words: 517/667". The number before the slash is the number of words you've selected. The number after the slash is the total number of words in the document. ![]() |

| Article: All About "De-Fragging" | ||||
![]() |
If
your computer is running slowly, you may have heard that you should
“de-frag” the computer. This probably
sounds scary and technical. If
you’re wondering what it is, what it does, and whether you
should be
doing it, you’re not alone! Also, if you already de-frag regularly, you may be wondering why it doesn’t really seem to do much to improve the performance of your computer. Read the entire article ![]() |

Hungarian Jonas Restaurant
- 6th Ave and
9 St SW - 262-3302
Babett Valachi, The Health-Conscious Realtor writes: "I would like to recommend the Hungarian Jonas Restaurant (great place with great prices!) both for lunch or dinner, not just because I am Hungarian, but all my Canadian friends, whom I took there, rated it very high. It is conveniently located in Downtown, on the SE corner of 6th Ave and 9 St SW, and they have not just daily specials, but also half and full portions (isn't it amazing?), and I assure you the half portion is for us, everyday people. The Full portion is for ex-Hungarians, who were used to have 6-course-meals way back in Hungary... hahaha When you enter, you will feel like being in Hungary; authentic, handmade tablecloths on the tables, and and other folkart on display - while listening to Hungarian music; not to mention the Hungarian cook and waitresses... Reservation is highly recommended, since more and more people discovered it."

It's not really a sea
anemone - it's actually a chrysanthemum! When submerged in
water, each petal "breathes", creating tiny air bubbles that adorn each
edge.
