Case Study #1:  Network Monitoring System Reseller Needs Product Catalogue
The client designs, manufactures, and installs complex network monitoring systems.  Their product line includes many complex and interrelated parts and systems.  The entire product line was contained in multiple Microsoft Excel worksheets and workbooks.

Mission:  Create a pricing catalogue in Microsoft Word that would pull product information from the data sheets and display it in various combinations in the catalogue.  Allow for automated pricing updates and product line changes, while retaining historical data about pricing changes.

Completed:  We ported the Excel information over into an Access database.  We added a front-end so that even inexperienced Access users could update pricing and view reports.  Then we created a smart Microsoft Word document that maintained dynamic links to the Access database.  Product information was automatically displayed in the pricing catalogue based on the user's choices within the product database.


Case Study #2:  Designers Need Project Management/Accounting Integration
The client has purchased a bookkeeping program and needs to integrate employee time, efficiency, and job costing reporting.

Mission:  Select and integrate an off-the-shelf project management program with the existing bookkeeping program to streamline employee time entry, job costing, and invoicing.

Completed:  We provided evaluation for multiple project management programs and helped the client select one.  We set up and configured the program and integrated it into the bookkeeping program, developing custom reporting through Microsoft Access and Excel to fulfill the needs of project team leads, managers, and accounting staff.


Case Study #3:  Trainers Need CRM With Custom Student Tracking
The client provides training services.  They need to track their clients, both by company and by individual student, and easily transfer contact information into Microsoft Outlook.  They also need to maintain records of training dates, types, venue information, and certificates.

Mission:  Develop an Access database that will track students by name as well as by company and organizer.  Include details for each training session, including class lists, location, time, and session requirements.  Track the issuance of certificates of completion, and transfer contact data into Microsoft Outlook with a single click.

Completed:  A central Access database with a user-friendly front end makes it easy for organizers, trainers, and management to access students and sessions by student name or company name. Single-click reports are available for tax receipts required, sales commissions payable, certificate issue, and newsletter subscriptions.
